What happens when your NDIS plan expires in this Covid-19 pandemic?

As the world is struggling with Covid-19 pandemic, NDIS has made some changes in their plan. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has changed what happens to participants’ plan when they expire during this pandemic. In this article we are going to discuss the change and how it will be implemented and help the people with disability.

So, you might be thinking about what happens after the plan expires. Don’t worry, we will let you know in detail.

On the day when your plan expires, it will automatically extend for one year, which means for 365 days. You don’t necessarily have to do anything in this because the plan will automatically extend. If you are an Access Foundation customer, you can let us know if you have any issues or questions so that we will update your plan and there will be no delays in the payment.

You can also extend your current plan for 24 months if you don’t want to make any change in your existing plan. You can contact NDIS and let them know about the same.

So, what if you want to make changes in your NDIS plan?

If you are not satisfied with your current plan and wish to make changes in it, you can still request a Change From NDIS . This way, your plan will not be extended for another year if you don’t wish to.

To do this, you have to follow these simple steps-

  • Give NDIS a call on 1800 800 110

  • You may require to partake a plan review meeting to have your request accepted. This meeting will take place over phone or via email. The step-by-step guide will help you prepare for your plan review.

  • Make sure to request the Plan Management to continue working with us. It’s your right to have plan management in your NIDS plan, but you need to ask for it.

How can you request plan management or support coordination from NDIS?

The NDIS Provider has made it easier to use these two services, which can help you access and supports throughout COVID-19. Whether your plan is going to expire or has extended, this is the time to access these services.

If you don’t have plan management but would like to have it, you can get access to unregistered providers by simply calling the NDIS and letting them know about your need. Switching to plan management requests are now approved within 24 hours.
